I have read that Nergal, the charismatic leader of excellent polish band Behemoth does not like if their music are labeled into genres of metal. I have to agree with him, but not at all. Mostly we, who write musical reviews sometimes have tendencies to make philosophic statements around the genres. I am not a departure from the rule.
So I label this record simply as death metal with various elements from other metal subgenres.
"Evangelion" has released last year in august and is almost perfect record. but almost...very close

...At first, I think Behemoth have reached their top already with record Thelema.6. Next records "Zos Kia Cultus","Demigod", "Apostasy" are just the shadow of Thelema.6 which they can not leave. Antireligious topics of lyrics, samples which will certainly remind you middle eastern pentatonic music and professionaly realised work mainly on the guitars and drums is a traditional bag of tools which equals abundant harvesting.

...on the other way we can give tag "the perfect album" only to record not only with excellent mastered sound, composed arrangements and lyrics but this kind of album have to dispose with innovation - it have to bring something new or band have to enter to the season of rennaisance... ...and this is it. Thelema.6 made the absolute end with pure black metal stuff and Behemoth turned 180 degrees and have shown their real musical virtuosity which nowdays label them between the most talented metal musicians worldwide.

...Its pity that also slovak bands are not known and join with this kind of positive label. But we have talented bands. It depents just all from fluent people whowill invest money, can manage the market and propagation things. Have you heard about the WAYD ? so, you have to listen them, they lead the metal top of quality in Slovakia in my honest opinion.

But I have deflected from the review a little bit.

I will not describe the tracks on new Behemoth record, just buy or listen it through the internet and enjoy music and make your own opinions. I can mention "Shemhamforash" which has strong oriental influence and "Ov Fire and the Void" has video. see below the review for link.
I just can comment that almost all tracks are interesting from some angle of view. Maybe it is weird but I think that the weakest track is last one - Lucifer. I like more their technical skills, Behemoth fast tempos were always very attractive to me... Inferno is the drum genius.

really strong impressive tracks on Evangelion:

Daimonos,Shemhamforash, Transmigrating Beyond Realms ov Amenti, He Who Breeds Pestilence
